Misfortune of war.........

Dear Mother, 

  It is cold. Bitterly cold.  I know not what is worse - the weather, or the sounds of the Russians coming closer.

To me, they are one in the same. The men are worn, our Stukas are battered, beaten.......but still, these old bastards

are far more durable than we could have ever imagined. My Stuka finally started, after sitting idle for 2 days in below freezing temps. I know not how it finally started, nor do I care.... it just started, and that makes me feel somewhat better.

  

 A few days ago, we got word that the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th of last year. It matters not here...Not to us, and not to me. I just want out of this frozen hell. I wonder how many more feel the same. I'm sure there are lots more, but are too afraid to say a word. Can you blame them ? With idiots in power so hell-bent on destroying Russia, without a care for the cost in material, or human lives...what can one do, much less say ? Not much....especially when your mouth is too frozen to speak....but for now, I'll just fly my Stuka, and do whatever mission I'm handed...It's about the only thing that keeps me alive. That, and the hope that we'll have professional men leading us, not the black-clad lemmings we have among us now.
